WHO AM I?Passionate cat lover, avid reader, struggling college student, and wannabe photographer
Artist Statement:I enjoy taking photographs of the outdoors, architectural objects, and other living things to find something special hidden in each picture. These unique elements hidden in photos create emotions in the photographer (myself) and viewers (usually my dad). Finding the uniqueness in each photo is almost like a puzzle, it takes time and a lot of effort to make each piece just perfectly to tell a story. As much as taking the perfect picture is exciting and victorious, I find it most enjoyable to take photos of objects or people that have a missing puzzle piece, adding an individualistic flavor to the image. Please click below to each gallery to find photos taken both digitally and with film. Try, as I did, to find the missing puzzle pieces. |
Artist Inspiration
ABELARDO MORELL
Morell serves more as an aspirational figure to my photography. I very much enjoy looking through his photographs and trying to decipher the hidden deeper meanings. Morell is known for his use of Camera Obscura, which forces the viewer to think differently about the photo, creating that deeper meaning. He is also known to take pictures of more simple images, including books, paper, lighting, or images relating to childhood. I admire Morell's use of both obscure and simple images to relay a message to the viewer.
